People have probably told you for years just how important a
good credit score is, but if you haven’t listened, you should.
There are many reasons why you need to have good credit and they
include school loans, home loans, to buy a new house, car or furniture
and even to get a good job. No matter what you’re trying to buy,
if you have to be put on a payment plan to get it, you are going to
have to have good credit. A company won’t give someone the option
of paying per month if that person doesn’t have a solid record of
paying bills on time. So, you’ll have to figure out how to pay
for everything in full if you have a less than stellar record. A
credit history check will affect you adversely if you have a low score,
so don’t be surprised if you’re turned down for the items you want to
buy.
If your credit history check showed that you have delinquent accounts
and you weren’t approved, you will be asked to get a co-signer.
If you have someone that trusts you enough to do this, go ahead and do
have them sign for you. It’s in this way that you’ll still get
that apartment, car or loan you want, but you will have to be very,
very careful. If you don’t pay your bill or don’t pay it on time,
your co-signer’s credit will be at risk. If you stop paying your
account, your co-signer is legally bound to pay it for you. So,
only ask someone to co-sign for you if you know for sure that you will
always have the money to pay your bills.
If you don’t want to get a co-signer, but want to rebuild your credit,
start paying your bills on time. If you have any accounts in the
red, pay them off. When you do these things, your credit history
check will start to show that you’re making an effort and you just
might get the things that you want after all.
